“At night the roof of the tower when lit seems to lift off and the lights blink on and off like the rhythm of a fish breathing underwater. After my meal I walked towards the building as the rain had stopped. At ground level the tower is all blocked off with barbed wire and an iron fence secures the site as foreboding. It is no longer a Pirelli building but Comune di Milano.â€
