Author-illustrator Clayton Hanmer (CTON) will show artists 8-13 how to use traditional comic elements, like text balloons, in non-traditional ways to tell a story. Pencils and drawing paper will be provided.

Myth Interpretation from the April 2013 issue of The Walrus Magazine

Paul Kim at The Walrus asked Maurice Vellekoop to create this image for a review of Anne Carson’s book “Red Doc” by Sarah Liss. The book is a poetic take on the relationship between Hercules and the mythological monster Geryon, updated  to the present day and re-imagined as a torturous gay love story.
