Author-illustratorÂ Clayton Hanmer (CTON) will show artists 8-13 how to use traditional comic elements, like text balloons, in non-traditional ways to tell a story. Pencils and drawing paper will be provided.

Paul Kim at The Walrus asked Maurice Vellekoop to create this image for a review of Anne Carsonâ€™s book â€œRed Docâ€ by Sarah Liss. The book is a poetic take on the relationship between Hercules and the mythological monster Geryon, updated Â to the present day and re-imagined as a torturous gay love story.
